Injury news
Adam Nicklin suffered an Acromion Clavicular (AC) Joint ligament sprain during the game at Gainsborough. After an x-ray to rule out a clavicle fracture, he has suffered damage to his AC ligament ruling him out of action for 2-4 weeks. Following Tuesday’s game, Adam couldn’t lift his arm forward past 50%, following some simple pendulum exercises and scapula setting, he has now regained 75% movement; hopefully this will increase to 100% movement by Tuesday’s game. We have started strengthening exercises to help regain the ligaments function and tensile strength using a theraband.
Gregg Anderson gets his sling removed a week on Thursday, where he can then start his lengthy rehabilitation process. This will involve some basic range of movement exercises to start with then slowly progressing to strengthening and rebuilding the muscle atrophy that has occurred in the shoulder and arm regions. After speaking to Gregg during the game on Saturday, his shoulder is feeling good and is itching to start his rehab!
JD will have his pot removed in 3 weeks; he will have another x-ray on the removal of the cast to ensure the fracture has fully healed. He will then begin the rehabilitation process of regaining strength of the muscular structures of the leg but also regaining movement back at the ankle, as this will have reduced after being in a cast. After this has regained we gain start jogging, and return to play protocols.
