Posthumous award for Andy Lee Martin

It is with a mixture of joy and sadness that North Ferriby make the following announcement. Our thoughts are with his family and friends who will be delighted that Andy’s involvement in local football has been recognised.
Andrew Lee Martin won the East Riding County FA People's Choice Award - Outstanding Contribution to Community Football. The award was given posthumously following Andy’s untimely death late last year. The award is presented by McDonalds and Andy’s name will go forward to be considered for a regional award.
He was nominated by his father Andy Martin. Together they coached and managed North Ferriby’s Under-18 gold side since bringing the team to the club from Skirlaugh at Under-16 level.
Andy was also working as a coach at Hull City's academy and had been a coach for the Hull Boys’ Sunday Football League representative side.
Andy was well -respected in local football for his playing and coaching ability. He was player/coach with Easington United and had been involved with a number of clubs over the years.
