Bruce Hat Trick sends Ferriby to Plate final.

North Ferriby United under 11’s beat a resilient and well organised AFC Tickton Warriors 3-0 in a hard fought semi final of the Plate at Ferriby’s home ground the Burrs.

Better weather conditions than last weeks abandoned fixture paved the way for flowing football from both teams. In the first half with the sun in their eyes Ferriby pushed hard but the Warriers defence stood firm and after 20 minutes it remained 0-0. Just before half time Niall Ellis made a vital tackle on the edge of the box which allowed Charlie Weeks to put through a perfectly weighted ball which cut through Tickton’s defence putting Andy Bruce through to score the first of his goals. At half time the score was 1-0 but with the change of ends Ferriby soon had a second goal, once again Bruce pounced on a through ball from Cannel which he placed in the bottom corner, the final goal came with 10 minutes left to play when a well worked move up the right side of the pitch from Godber, Green and Taylor set Bruce free to score his hat trick. However Tickton continued to battle and never gave up the fight and it took a last minute wonder save from Freddie White to ensure the Villagers kept a clean sheet, this save was then matched by the Tickton keeper who kept out a sweetly struck volley from Weeks from the edge of the Tickton box. The final is scheduled to be played at Dene Park in May when Victoria Dock Rangers Vikings will complete with North Ferriby for the Plate.
